VERO, short for Vacuum-cleaner-Equipped Robot, is an innovative quadruped designed by IIT’s Dynamic Legged Systems lab to revolutionize litter removal in challenging environments. Built on the AlienGo platform, VERO combines advanced mobility with practical functionality, making it ideal for cleaning beaches, small alleys, and parks, especially where wheeled or tracked robots struggle to operate.

Equipped with an onboard vacuum cleaner system, VERO features hoses connected to its four legs, with nozzles attached to each foot. This unique design allows the robot to efficiently remove litter, such as cigarette butts, by simply stepping near the debris and activating the vacuum. VERO’s agile and adaptive movement ensures effective cleaning in hard-to-reach terrains, offering a sustainable and innovative approach to maintaining cleaner public spaces.
