LiMX Dynamics
LimX Dynamics TRON 2 Autonomous Mobile Manipulation Kit
The LimX Dynamics TRON 2 Autonomous Mobile Manipulation Kit provides researchers, developers and robotics teams with a streamlined platform for autonomous mobile manipulation, whole-body motion control and 3D perception across diverse environments.
TRON 2 is an embodied AI platform designed primarily for research. Its configurable architecture supports mobile manipulation, VLA research, whole-body motion control and advanced autonomous robotics development across a range of environments and terrain.
Rather than requiring research teams to build mobility, manipulation and whole-body motion-control capabilities independently, the TRON 2 platform provides these capabilities within an integrated development platform so teams can focus on higher-level research including task planning, visual perception, manipulation and application development.
Built for Autonomous Mobile Manipulation Research
Autonomous mobile manipulation requires a robot to do more than move through an environment or manipulate an object from a fixed position. The robot must coordinate mobility, posture and manipulation while interacting with objects located throughout real-world human workspaces.
The TRON 2 Mobile Manipulation Kit combines robotic-arm positioning, body-height adjustment and whole-body posture control to extend manipulation beyond traditional tabletop robotics.
The platform supports manipulation tasks ranging from floor-level object pickup to interaction with elevated objects and common human workspace features.
Manipulation Across Everyday Human Workspaces
Real-world objects appear at different heights and orientations. TRON 2 is designed to expand the usable manipulation workspace through coordinated robot posture, mobility and arm movement.
- Working height range: 0–1.5 m
- Tabletop manipulation: approximately 50 cm reach across an 80 cm-high tabletop
- Floor-level object pickup: combines squatting, arm extension and whole-body motion control
- Elevated interaction: supports access to common interaction points including switches, elevator buttons, door handles and mid-level shelves
- Interchangeable end effectors: supports progression from basic grasping to dexterous manipulation research
Integrated Arm-Leg Coordination
Autonomous mobile manipulation across varied terrain presents a significant control challenge. Traditional systems may require separate mobility and manipulation controllers, leaving researchers responsible for managing the dynamic interaction between the two systems.
The TRON 2 Mobile Manipulation Kit provides integrated whole-body motion-control capabilities as part of the platform. This allows research teams to focus more directly on task planning, perception, manipulation and application-layer motion control.
Three Levels of Robotics Development
Layer 1: Quick Start
New users can use the remote controller or VR teleoperation to quickly experience the manipulation workflow and teleoperate TRON 2 for scenario validation.
Layer 2: Rapid Task Development
Developers can use the Application-Layer SDK and open-source manipulation examples to define application logic and validate policies without beginning at the motor-control level.
Layer 3: Advanced Development
Advanced research teams can use the Low-Level Motion-Control SDK together with simulation environments including Isaac, MuJoCo and Gazebo to train motion-control policies and conduct deeply customized robotics research.
